01. Scope and approvals.
A written quote or statement of work must identify deliverables, milestones, supplied content, revision allowances, fees and approval steps. Work outside that scope requires agreement on cost and timing. Silence is not automatically approval of a design or a new charge. You must provide timely access, accurate copy and authorised feedback; we will explain material effects of delays.
02. Content and intellectual property.
You must have permission for supplied copy, photography, logos, trademarks and personal information. Ownership and licence rights in custom work must be stated in the project agreement. Third-party themes, fonts, stock assets, plugins and platforms retain their own licences. Paying for a website does not automatically include every source file or unlimited third-party licences.
03. Testing, launch and handover.
Agree the supported browsers, devices, functionality, acceptance process and handover materials. Review content and test critical forms, payments and integrations before approving launch. We will address failures against the agreed specification. New features and ongoing maintenance are separate unless included. Keep a backup and recovery plan for live systems.
04. Integrations and automation.
Third-party APIs, social accounts, payment gateways and AI services depend on their own approvals, quotas, availability and terms. We do not guarantee approval by Meta, Google or another provider. Access must be authorised and scoped appropriately. Changes affecting live communication or data require an agreed rollout and recovery plan.
05. Search, accessibility and marketing claims.
We can agree work to improve discoverability, performance, accessibility and conversion, but do not guarantee search rankings, leads, revenue, approval or a particular sales result. Advertising budgets, content production and ongoing optimisation must be specified. You approve claims about your business; reviews and endorsements must be authentic and used with appropriate permission.
06. Maintenance and cancellation.
Hosting, domains, licences, updates and support may be separate recurring services. The project agreement must explain maintenance scope and how to end it. On termination, agree a secure export and removal of access, subject to applicable rights and licence restrictions. We will not use control of a domain or account as a substitute for a lawful debt-resolution process.
