CIPC annual return or SARS tax return?

Understand which filing you need to discuss with TIN and why company-record filings and income tax returns are separate.

They go to different authorities

A CIPC annual return concerns the company or close corporation’s annual information filing. A SARS tax return concerns tax information and the applicable tax liability. Filing one does not replace the other. Check the authority and return type before placing an order.

Check the company’s current position

Tell TIN which period you need help with, whether previous annual returns are outstanding and whether beneficial ownership information is up to date. CIPC’s filing process requires current beneficial ownership information. A late return or several outstanding periods may need a different scope.

Review the TIN service conditions

The published standard CIPC filing offer has eligibility, turnover and statutory-fee conditions. Read those conditions beside the service price and use the eligibility questions before ordering. SARS tax filing, beneficial ownership updates and other additional work are separate services.

Prepare a secure brief

Use the enquiry form to explain the filing you need. Keep identity numbers, tax PINs, bank details and documents out of the public form. TIN will confirm the authority, required information, suitable submission channel and agreed work before proceeding.
